Changes in Top Sunscreen Brand Reputation Rankings and Market Trends
As the midsummer heat continues, consumer interest in UV protection is hotter than ever. According to the August sunscreen brand reputation survey, brands that held top positions last month experienced ranking changes, creating an intensely competitive landscape.
The Korea Corporate Reputation Research Institute analyzed 9,795,299 big data points for 23 domestic sunscreen brands from July 21 to August 21. This represents a 14.29% increase compared with 8,570,519 in July, showing that consumers have become even more active online.
According to the August sunscreen brand reputation big data analysis, the AHC sunscreen brand ranked No. 1.
AHC Rises to No. 1 in August Sunscreen Brand Reputation
AHC took first place in this month’s sunscreen brand reputation rankings. AHC recorded a brand reputation index of 1,033,095 points, showing remarkable growth of 53.24% compared with July. In particular, it demonstrated strong performance across the participation index, communication index, and community index, proving its overwhelming influence in the market.

Mixed Fortunes Among Top-Ranking Brands
Dr.G, which ranked No. 1 last month, fell to second place this month. Dr.G recorded a brand reputation index of 841,012, down 24.49% from the previous month, showing a somewhat slower pace. Cell Fusion C recorded a high community index of 585,266. This indicates that consumers are actively communicating and sharing information about the product.
Changes in Sunscreen Consumption and Communication Indicators
The analysis found that the brand consumption indicator fell by 13.50%, while the communication and diffusion indicators rose by 9.71% and 21.65%, respectively. This suggests that consumers are increasingly exploring brand-related information and exchanging opinions online rather than focusing solely on direct product purchases.
Biore sunscreen, which ranked fourth, rose 49.04% compared with the previous month and successfully secured a position among the top ranks. Shingmulnara ranked fifth, followed by HERA, Kinel, Yadah, Round Lab, and IOPE, all of which made it into the top 10 and strengthened their market positions.
The Meaning of Reputation Index Analysis
This analysis is not an evaluation that directly measures the technical quality of products. It is the result of analyzing public interest in and influence of brands by indexing how often consumers search for and talk about each brand online.
In Closing
As rankings in the sunscreen market fluctuate frequently among brands, online communication and community diffusion have become key factors in determining reputation. Beyond simply exposing products to consumers, brand messages that can encourage active consumer participation will be the key to gaining a competitive edge in the market.
